Millet Biryani | Thinai Biriyani | Korralu Pulao | Diabeties Diet

Millets which are natural source of fibre, protein, calcium, magnesium, help control the blood sugar spike. Just replacing refined grains with these tiny but mighty Millets, open a whole new array of diet options for people living with diabetes.

Millet Biryani Receipe - Diet Food
Ingredients
1/2 Cup hulled foxtail Millet/ Thinai arisi/korra biyyam
1-1/2 cups water
Salt as Needed
1 to 1-1/2 tbsps Ghee or Oil
1/2 to 3/4 Chopped Vegetables ( Carrots, Beans, peas, small onions, potatoes)
Mint Leaves
1 TSP Giner Garlic paste
Biryani Spices:  Bay Leaf, Cardomom, Cloves, cinnamon stick, star flower, mace, shahi jeera

Preparation

Wash & Soak Millet in warm water (min 1 hr) 
Heat pan woith oil, saute biryani spices, add ginger garlic paste and fry till green smell leaves
Add Vegetables and mix well till raw smell leaves 

                        
Pour water and add salt.
Bring it boil
Add the drained millets and reduce the flame to medium till they are cooked fully.
Keep it covered for 6 to 8 mintues.
Serve hot with raita.
